Head of Finance

The Head of Finance will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial health of our organization.

This is a senior leadership position which requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in financial management, budgeting, and analysis, all achieved with exposure to a SME commercial environment.

Reporting into the CFO and with responsibility for leading a small Finance team, you will have a proven track record of implementing financial best practices, driving efficiency, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making and the realisation of our growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Leadership:
    • Provide strategic financial leadership across the business.
    • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls.
    • Working with and developing the financial understanding of the senior management team
    • Managing and developing relationships with key external partners
  2. Financial Planning and Analysis:
    • Working with the CFO, actively contribute to the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting activities.
    • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
    • Attend Board meetings and present the financial performance and analysis of the business.
  3. Risk Management:
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks to ensure the stability of the organization.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and changes in financial regulations.
  4. Cash Flow Management:
    • Manage and optimize cash flow to support operational needs and growth initiatives.
    • Implement strategies to improve working capital efficiency.
  5. Team Leadership:
    • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team.
    • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture within the finance department.

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant, with minimum 2 years post qualifying experience.
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably within an SME environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
