The Head of Finance will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial health of our organization.
This is a senior leadership position which requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in financial management, budgeting, and analysis, all achieved with exposure to a SME commercial environment.
Reporting into the CFO and with responsibility for leading a small Finance team, you will have a proven track record of implementing financial best practices, driving efficiency, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making and the realisation of our growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership:
- Provide strategic financial leadership across the business.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Working with and developing the financial understanding of the senior management team
- Managing and developing relationships with key external partners
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Working with the CFO, actively contribute to the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting activities.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
- Attend Board meetings and present the financial performance and analysis of the business.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate financial risks to ensure the stability of the organization.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and changes in financial regulations.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Manage and optimize cash flow to support operational needs and growth initiatives.
- Implement strategies to improve working capital efficiency.
- Team Leadership:
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture within the finance department.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant, with minimum 2 years post qualifying experience.
- Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably within an SME environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
