More than 25 innovative businesses working in the energy sector and supported by Innovate UK and the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) are showcasing their technologies to potential customers, partners and investors at the 2016 All Energy conference in Glasgow.

Among the businesses are Ceres Power Ltd, which is working with Catal International to improve the efficiency of its Steel Cell fuel cell technology for remote power generation, and ACT Blade Ltd, which is developing a lighter more cost and energy-efficient wind turbine blade.

Other business showcasing their technologies include Recycling Technologies, which is developing a technology to convert plastic waste into a fuel that can be used to generate electricity, and ICAX Ltd, which is developing heat sharing networks for buildings.

Each business has the opportunity to pitch for 5 minutes in a fast-paced event.

Visitors will meet the businesses during networking sessions and to hear more about Innovate UK’s work with Catapult centres, the Knowledge Transfer Network and the Enterprise Europe Network.

Rob Saunders, head of energy for Innovate UK, said:

“The businesses that will be showcasing their technologies are a snapshot of ones that have either been supported by us or by DECC over recent years.

Through the event we are hoping to facilitate connections with new collaborators, first customers and potential investors.

We connect and fund hundreds of businesses that are addressing the challenges our energy systems face as well as developing significant commercial opportunities for the UK economy.”
