On 1 January 2018, new EU public procurement thresholds were introduced.
If you work with public sector bodies, then it is essential that you are aware of the new value thresholds.

What organisations must follow these thresholds?
The new thresholds apply to the following types of contracting authorities, as defined by the Public Contracts Regulations 2015:
- Central Government departments (and their Executive Agencies)
- Non-Departmental Public Bodies
- Executive Agencies
- Wider public sector organisations
Buyers for all types of contracting authority must ensure that all contract notices for procurement valued above EU thresholds are published throughout the EU via the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU).
Note: Changes from the 2016-17 thresholds are indicated in red below.
The Public Contracts Regulations
The European Public Contracts Directive is transposed into UK law by the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2015. It governs the procurement activities of public sector bodies including government departments, local authorities and NHS Trusts.
