Events Team Manager

Role Overview

As the Events Team Manager, you will manage and lead the day-to-day operational delivery our Events Delivery team, and how that contributes to the commercial impact of our Events & Exhibitions programme.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing all aspects of event delivery and providing operational management, and professional development, to our Events Delivery team.

This is a new role within the organisation, and which aligns to the development of our Head of Events to concentrate their role on shaping the strategic direction of our events programme, as part of our growth objectives.

The key responsibilities of the role will include :-

Team Leadership

  • Manage, support, and mentor a small team of Events Coordinators, providing daily direction and guidance.
  • Oversee team workload, resource planning, and task allocation across concurrent projects, all which contribute to the commercial delivery of the events programme.
  • Encourage a collaborative and solutions-focused team environment, which contributes to a performance culture.
  • Support the ongoing professional development of team members.

Operational Event Delivery

  • Assume responsibility for the operational delivery of assigned events, as part of wider programme.
  • Ensure events are delivered efficiently on time, and within agreed budgets and to quality standards.
  • Manage logistics, suppliers, venues, and event platforms, ensuring quality and compliance at all stages.
  • Attend and represent the company across our events programme.

Stakeholder and Supplier Coordination

  • Act as a key point of contact for operational matters relating to speakers, sponsors, venues, and suppliers.
  • Build strategic relationships with industry leaders.
  • Negotiate contracts with venues, suppliers, and third-party vendors to ensure cost-efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to support overall events delivery.

As the successful candidate you will demonstrate:-

  • Strong experience in event operations, ideally in a B2B or public-private sector environment.
  • Proven track record on building and developing an Event team.
  • Passion for coaching and developing team, and individual, performance.
  • Commercial mindset.
  • Strong organisational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail, with excellent problem-solving and coordination skills.
  • A proactive, “can-do” approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
