Head of Finance

Reporting into the CFO and with responsibility for leading a small Finance team, you will have a proven track record of implementing financial best practices, driving efficiency, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making and the realisation of our growth strategy.

About You

You will be a Chartered Accountant, who has gained at least two-years commercial experience, ideally within the SME industry.   This role presents a great opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking to build on their post qualifying industry experience and is now focused on moving into a leadership role.

Forming part of our Senior Management Team and play a key role in shaping and implementing the financial strategy of the business.  You will be responsible for building relationships with key stakeholders – both internally as well as with our external partners.

In support of the strategic plans for the business, this role will offer significant opportunities for professional growth and development.

About the Role

Financial Leadership:

  • Provide strategic financial leadership across the business.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

Responsibilities:

Agile Leadership:

  • Lead and motivate Agile teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Coach and mentor team members on Agile principles and practices.

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Work directly with the Product Owners and Software Development Manager to Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Manage project backlog using Agile tools and techniques.
  • Monitor and track project progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including developers, designers, product owners, and clients.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Marketing to plan and oversee “Go to Market” strategy for any new development.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Foster open communication and collaboration within your teams.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work with the team to ensure all deliverables meet quality standards.

Metrics and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyse project data to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Generate reports and presentations for stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Software Project Manager.
  • Proven experience in leading and delivering Agile software projects.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality products and features and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with project management tools, such as Jira or Asure DevOps.
  • Related degree, Prince2 or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate

Desirable:

  • Experience of UK and global e-procurement processes and standards.
  • Certifications in Agile methodologies, such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).

Junior Data Scientist

As we continue to invest into the growth of our Product & Innovation function, we are seeking a junior Data Scientist to join our team.

This role would be well suited to a recent graduate, who has completed an Honours or Masters degree in data science (or similar). Ideally, you will have has exposure to some level of commercial experience but we will consider candidates purely on their academic experience, providing they can demonstrate a skill-set in both data analytics and engineering.

The role will be responsible for data analytics and data visualization, while as a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines.

Data Analytics & Visualisation

  • Champion and enable data-driven decision making within BIP Solutions.
  • Work with business stakeholders to find the right questions to ask of data.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis over SQL/NoSQL databases and application logs.
  • Run discovery analytics to identify new and innovative opportunities.
  • Analyse business datasets to extract actionable insights.
  • Communicate complex analytics insights to business stakeholders.
  • Design and implement self-service data analytics solutions (e.g. dashboards).
  • Receive and respond to ad-hoc data analytics queries from the wider business.
  • Liaise with the BiP Network team to provision infrastructure to support analytics workflows.

Data Engineering

  • Build data pipelines to get the right data in the right place to support analytics & ML.
  • Datalake for ML training data, Logstash pipelines.
  • Collecting and logging in-app user interactions and content metadata.
  • Transforming and cleaning data for use in downstream applications & analytics.
  • Normalising and linking of disparate/siloed data sets.
  • Post-processing of user interaction logs from applications.
  • Measuring & monitoring data quality issues.
  • Define business metrics to capture data quality signals.
  • Data analytics dashboard for reporting field completion for contracts

Skills & Experience

  • Proficiency in Programming languages(Python and SQL) – essential requirement of the role
  • Extensive math and computer skills, with a deep understanding of probability, statistics, and algorithms.
  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks, like Keras or PyTorch.
  • Assist in the development of machine learning models for predictive and prescriptive analytics.
  • Collaboration with senior data scientists to implement and test algorithms.

In addition, you will have exposure to:

  • Creating visualizations to communicate complex data findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Building your knowledge of how to clean and preprocess raw data to ensure its quality and suitability for analysis.
  • Developing your skillset to analyse large datasets to extract meaningful insights and identify trends.
  • Conducting exploratory data analysis to understand patterns and anomalies.
  • Creating visualizations to communicate complex data findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaborating with other teams to present data-driven insights effectively.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and goals.

It would be beneficial for the role if you understood:-

  • Elastic stack (ELK) which include Elastic Search, Logstash and Kibana for visualization .
  • REST API’s for data ingestion.

The Role

Operating as our Supply Chain CRM, you will be responsible for: –

  • Effective end-to-end account management of our Supply Chain partners
    • Regular stakeholder engagement
    • Performing the role of product champion
    • Providing intelligent reporting
  • Sourcing new partner opportunities to develop the commercial strategic objectives
    • Researching and identifying partner opportunities through social engagement
    • Successful onboarding of new partners in accordance with agreed approach
    • Proactively reviewing and updating onboarding processes to drive the partner experience.
  • Working to and delivering against commercial KPI’s and overall revenue delivery
  • Supporting the development of product collateral for wider supply chain business engagement

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity with uncapped earning potential where you will be reporting directly to the Exhibition Sales Manager / Head of Exhibition Sales. You will be responsible for maximising the value of our full events and exhibitions portfolio covering multiple growing market sectors with opportunities for career progression for the right individuals.

The key responsibilities of this exciting role will be to:

  • Achieving and exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets through a combination of exhibition, sponsorship and Digital Event Sales
  • Work collaboratively with the wider sales, event and marketing team to maximise sales opportunities
  • Assume project lead for managing and developing the revenue streams for identified exhibition projects within the portfolio
  • Source, develop and maintain excellent relationships with exhibitors, sponsors, partners and the wider internal project teams

As the successful candidate you will demonstrate experience of :

  • Strong B2B new business sales experience within an office / desk-based sales environment

  • Knowledge of operating within the Exhibition/Media sales market is highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of using a CRM system -Salesforce use desirable but not essential.
