Management Accountant

Reporting into our Finance Director, the role will involve assisting in the development of powerful financial management reporting, recording and controlling all relevant financial transactions, in-depth analysis of the causes of variances, product costing and profitability analysis, and on-going process improvement.

You will have responsibility for:

  • Responsible for producing a set of management accounts to specific deadlines including management of revenue recognition which varies across products.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Quarterly VAT returns.
  • Assisting with the financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting.
  • Continuous review and development of processes to improve efficiency.
  • Supporting sales & marketing in analysis of financial sales metrics.

Beyond the technical requirements of the role, you will be responsible for supporting our Senior Management Team develop an ongoing understanding and appreciation of the financial performance of our product portfolio, and the overall business.  As part your development in the role, you will also have the opportunity of presenting financial analysis at our monthly Board Meetings.

In support of the above, you will demonstrate the ability to build and develop positive relationships with senior stakeholders across the business.  This will be achieved, in part, by investing time to understand our business and the different functions within it.

As the successful candidate will be creative, work on your own initiative and can adhere to specific deadlines. Knowledge of Accounting Seed, Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and CRM systems is a distinct advantage.

You are likely to be a part qualified accountant.  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential for this role.

As a Business Development Manager, you will have responsibility for promoting our Delta eSourcing product to the buying community. The role will involve new business acquisition within a specific territory as well as building effective relationships with our existing customer base – which includes local and central government – and demonstrating the full value of our public sector product portfolio.

The sales process will include delivering online product demonstrations, as well as meeting clients in a face-to-face environment.  As part of our Events portfolio, you will also have the opportunity to attend and exhibit at these events, across the UK.

As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Proactive research to identify new contacts and organisational changes across the UK public sector
  • Reviewing government websites, trade media and other sources in order to maintain a full understanding of current and potential future changes within our market

 Data Analytics & Visualisation

  • Champion and enable data-driven decision making within BIP Solutions.
  • Work with business stakeholders to find the right questions to ask of data.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis over SQL/NoSQL databases and application logs.
    • Run discovery analytics to identify new and innovative opportunities.
    • Analyse business datasets to extract actionable insights.

  • Design and implement self-service data analytics solutions (e.g. dashboards).
  • Receive and respond to ad-hoc data analytics queries from the wider business.

Data Engineering

  • Build data pipelines to get the right data in the right place to support analytics & ML.
    • Datalake for ML training data, Logstash pipelines.
    • Collecting and logging in-app user interactions and content metadata.
  • Transforming and cleaning data for use in downstream applications & analytics.
    • Normalising and linking of disparate/siloed data sets.
    • Post-processing of user interaction logs from applications.
  • Measuring & monitoring data quality issues.
    • Define business metrics to capture data quality signals.
    • Data analytics dashboard for reporting field completion for contracts.

Skills & Experience

  • Direct experience in a data engineering or data science role
  • A working knowledge of the Python-based Data Science ecosystem.
  • Proficiency with SQL (Oracle & MySQL), and NoSQL (MongoDB).
  • Exposure to the Elastic Stack (Elastic, Logstash, and Kibana).
  • Experience in designing visually appealing data analytics dashboards.
