Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist / Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both data analytics and engineering and will work on a variety of projects that primarily involve public procurement contracts data.

You will be responsible for data analytics and data visualization, while as a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines.

 Data Analytics & Visualisation

  • Champion and enable data-driven decision making within BIP Solutions.

Head of Software Engineering

The Head of Software Engineering is a critical role in supporting the digital growth and revenue targets across the business. The role will be responsible for setting the software development best practices, supporting/developing current & future architecture and the ensuring that all agreed activities are delivered in a timely, effective & consistent fashion.

This would cover all aspects of software lifecycle including new product development & management/maintenance of existing platforms ensuring they stay relevant & performant.

  • Set the strategy and subsequent work packages of how BiP build & maintain our applications to ensure all coding practices are consistent, efficient and future proof
  • Work closely with Product & Infrastructure to ensure that software strategy & vision is understood and have an overall shared & cohesive plan
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to analyse the needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals
    Regularly communicate, monitor and update key stakeholder groups on tracking of strategy
  • Review, build & constantly assess the underlying organisational structure, to ensure it is fit for purpose in terms of size, shape, cost & skills to deliver against current & future objectives

Prioritisation & Delivery

  • Leads the development teams and collaborates with Product and other business departments in order to roll out new products/functionalities, support and implement the ongoing process improvements of the current systems.
  • Develop detailed plans and delivery schedules to ensure that outputs/outcomes from the teams match agreed budget/business case goals so we can maximise return on investment
  • Ensure documented and robust processes in place around how work is identified, prioritised and resourced within the team. This should include where applicable, roles & responsibilities from within the team and other areas of the business
  • Own development projects from conception through build, testing, implementation and support ensuring they meet business needs
  • Identify the delivery techniques that deliver the greatest value (SCRUM, ScrumBan, Lean, TDD etc) and bed in and ensure understanding, training & compliance to enable consistent delivery
  • Ensure that all team members are working on tasks that are meaningful to company and business objectives with a specific commercial lens to ensure return on investment
  • Work closely with all key stakeholder groups throughout the delivery process to ensure quick & relevant decision-making/priority calls are in place, where applicable
  • Identify user needs and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases to ensure that the “non-functional” elements of delivery are captured, tracked & delivered e.g., change management activities
  • Set up controls and procedures for quality assurance for all the activities performed by the engineering team: planning, management, execution and implementation of site/software, inclusive of the day-to-day project management, scope management, issue and risk management, as well as regular status reporting.

  • Ensure that all future developments are reviewed against preferred future state to ensure that solutions/future code fits into a pre-defined standard to maximise delivery timescales, ability to easily add/change/delete/update & minimise technical debt

    5+ years’ experience of running teams developing modern applications and services in an Agile/SCRUM environment

    Supported by both your Sales Manager and the dedicated support of our Sales Trainer, the first 4 weeks will be providing you with a mixture of company information, market sector knowledge as well as the wider sales process.  Post that initial 4 weeks, you’ll move into your team where, with the continued support of the Sales Manager and your new team colleagues, you’ll start to put things you’ve learned into practice.  Before you know it in month 3 of your career with BiP. This is when things start to really take shape and where we get to see the impact YOU can make and how you use your existing sales skills & experience, coupled with your new knowledge of BiP Solutions and a knowledge of the market in which we operate.

    About You

    Working in a Sales environment is challenging. If it wasn’t, everyone would do it. That’s why we need you to arrive with some experience. Ideally 2 years’ B2B sales acquisition, but if you have 1 years’ experience, a track record of delivering sales, and a positive, enthusiastic attitude with a real desire for success then you could be a great fit.

      The last year has seen the BiP Solutions event team adapting well to the market conditions – delivering 10 online exhibitions successfully through a state-of-the-art online exhibition platform – testament to a sales organisation with the ability and will to adopt quickly to new client engagement processes and to adapt to the most challenging market conditions.

      Our Public Sector Events portfolio has now launched for 2021/22 and we have more online events as well as the return of our Live In Venue Events –with an ambitious 3 year Growth Strategy already in place.

      We are therefore, delighted to announce that the Exhibitions Sales team at BiP Solutions are now actively recruiting for highly motivated and experienced B2B or B2G sales professionals to join their established and highly successful exhibition & sponsorship sales team !

      This is an excellent opportunity with uncapped earning potential where you will be reporting directly to the Exhibition Sales Manager / Head of Exhibition Sales. You will be responsible for maximising the value of our full events and exhibitions portfolio covering multiple growing market sectors with opportunities for career progression for the right individuals.

      The key responsibilities of this exciting role will be to:

      • Achieving and exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets through a combination of exhibition, sponsorship and Digital Event Sales
      • Work collaboratively with the wider sales, event and marketing team to maximise sales opportunities
      • Assume project lead for managing and developing the revenue streams for identified exhibition projects within the portfolio
      • Source, develop and maintain excellent relationships with exhibitors, sponsors, partners and the wider internal project teams
      • Build and maintain knowledge of the wider public sector market and use this information to leverage revenue.

      As the successful candidate you will demonstrate experience of :

      • Strong B2B new business sales experience within an office / desk-based sales environment
      • Proven track record of success in target achievement
      • Expert knowledge and implementation of the sales process
      • Knowledge of operating within the Exhibition/Media sales market is highly beneficial.
      • Knowledge of using a CRM system -Salesforce use desirable but not essential.
      • Business-to-Government experience desirable but not essential.
