Tenders invited for the supply of animal health and technical support services

On 3 May APHA and Defra will issue an Official Journal of the European Union notice inviting tenders for a range of animal health and technical support services.

Agricultural valuers, poultry catchers, drovers, herders, slaughtermen, marksmen, dart gun operators, carcase disposal and ADR transport services, general transport/haulage providers, incineration and rendering providers and others are invited to tender for the framework agreement.

It will be available for use across Great Britain by central government departments, agencies, devolved administrations, non-departmental public bodies (NDPBs) and local authorities.

We are asking for tenderers to state which Lots they can provide and in which geographical regions. We interested in hearing from anyone who can supply any of the services in any of the regions to ensure that we have good coverage across Great Britain. Tenderers can also indicate that they can service all GB regions if appropriate.

The framework agreement may be used for responding to outbreaks of exotic notifiable animal disease, during other types of incidents or emergencies or during normal day-to-day business as the need arises.

The tender process requires prospective suppliers to answer a series of questions relating to their organisation. These responses will then be evaluated and following this, a range of successful providers will be added to a contingency framework agreement allowing services to be called off when required.

For companies interested in applying for this tender, more information is available on Defra’s e-tendering system.

Please note that any clarification questions relating to the tender must be submitted online by midday on 17 June 2016. Potential tenderers will also have the opportunity to attend to face to face clarification question and answer sessions where they can ask the project team questions directly, these will be held as follows:

  • London – 9 May 2016
  • Wales – 17 May 2016
  • Scotland – 25 May 2016

Clarification days are subject to change and will depend on interest to attend. Tenderers who wish to attend any of these sessions must check dates and provide confirmation of attendance via the Bravo messaging service.

The deadline for any questions relating to the tender and associated documentation is midday on 17 June 2016.

The deadline for final tender submissions is midday on 22 June 2016.
