The CBI response to the government’s April call for evidence on the National Innovation Plan argues that innovation is fundamental to UK prosperity – boosting job creation, investment and productivity – and that government and industry need to keep pace with evolving practices and technologies to create the best environment to sustain it.

CBI look at how encouraging business investment in the right tools, technologies, and partnerships can boost productive capacity and firms’ ability to innovate. But they also examines government’s role in creating the best conditions for fast-growing, dynamic businesses to thrive, and what actions government should take to directly influence the level of innovation in the economy.
