Web Content Editor (Manchester)

Based out of our Manchester office, BiP Solutions are delighted to bring to market the role of Web Content Editor, with day to day responsibility for execution of digital content across our community websites. We are looking for a passionate web editor to research, plan, write and edit web content. The successful candidate should be a skilled writer and researcher, with an eye for detail and an understanding of how to create digital content.

Reporting into the Head of Content and Client Services, the role will involve: –

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce and publish news content across our Defence, Construction, Health and wider public sector portfolios
  • Support the content strategy ensuring content is optimised for search and in line with the keyword strategy
  • Work with sector content leads to develop and deliver website content strategies for each of our sites
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders with regards to continued site development and content creation
  • Oversee layout, look and feel of websites from a user perspective
  • Monitor and report back on website performance

Location: Manchester office, with regular travel to Glasgow office, when required



  • Educated to degree level in communications or related field
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in a web content role
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills
  • Experience of using CMS systems such as WordPress and a general understanding of HTML
  • Experience of using social media management and publishing tools such as Hootsuite
  • Experience of user journey optimisation to help grow organic traffic
  • Experience of working with web analytics, including Google Analytics and MOZ
  • Excellent understanding of best practice and digital communications
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices
  • Good understanding of web technologies and digital marketing
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Evidence of using creative and innovative approaches
  • Hands on experience with MS Office, InDesign, Photoshop or other publishing tools
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to be flexible and react positively to changing priorities


  • Experience of working in a multi-site organisation
  • Knowledge of key markets, i.e. Defence, Construction and Health
