BiP Solutions, experts in connecting the private and public sectors, are recruiting for a Financial Controller. Based at our HQ at Pacific Quay, this is the perfect opportunity for an individual with 2-5 years PQE looking to take the next step in the career and further develop industry experience

As a high-growth SME business, with offices in both Glasgow and Manchester, the primary purpose of this role is to deliver strong financial governance and to ensure the effective management and delivery of all associated processes in line with the requirements of the business.

The core responsibilities of the role will focus on but not limited to: –

  • Provide overall management, leadership and professional development to a small Finance team
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheet, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
  • Prepare monthly analysis of operational expenses against budget, prior year and forecast
  • Actively support the Finance Director in the preparation of budgets and forecasts as well as the monitoring and analysis of business performance against budgets and forecasts
  • Deputise for the Finance Director to present the management accounts at the monthly Board Meetings
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business and provide them with relevant and informative financial analysis to support their business requirements
  • Support the auditors in the creation of statutory accounts
  • Prepare VAT returns, manage other tax returns in conjunction with external advisors
  • Work with all internal and external stakeholders to deliver the monthly payroll process
  • Support and collaborate with department stakeholders to drive optimum performance of the wider Accounts and Finance function

More about you: –

  • Fully Qualified Accountant with 2-5 years PQE
  • Experience of producing management and statutory accounts
  • Knowledgeable on VAT
  • Strong people leader, committed to developing your team
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships – both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at senior level
