The £16.2m Skills for Employers and Employees (SEE) project will provide training programmes targeted at businesses in key sectors of the North Wales economy.

Over 500 businesses and 7,000 people are set to benefit from the project over the next three years.

Led by Coleg Cambria, the SEE project has been backed by over £10m of EU funds – enabling businesses to access training with subsidies of up to 70 per cent.

Vocational training will be available in a range of sectors including engineering, construction, advanced manufacturing, IT, health and social care, tourism, and energy and low carbon industries.

The project aims to accelerate the careers of 7,000 people, generate 6,000 new qualifications, and increase productivity and business growth in North Wales.

Coleg Cambria will deliver the project in partnership with Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and the WEA YMCA CC Cymru.

Finance and Government Business Minister, Jane Hutt, said:

“This EU funds investment is excellent news for North Wales – for the thousands of people who’ll benefit from improved skills and career opportunities, and also for the prosperity of businesses in the region.

“This is also another positive example of the benefits of UK membership of the EU, creating opportunities for people to progress in their careers, develop their skills and achieve a more prosperous future.”
