The 4 year Dismounted Soldier System Engine Room contract, worth up to £40 million, will help enable the UK soldier to continue being the battle winning capability.

Successful bidders for the contract will undertake operational analysis, technology research and systems engineering to underpin the development of the UK dismounted soldier capability by working with government, industry and academia.

Ross Jones, Programme Manager for Close Combat Systems, Dstl says:

The Dismounted Soldier Systems Engine Room industry day allowed a huge breadth of industry suppliers and representatives from academia to come together in support of dismounted soldier research. Over the coming months we will be setting out the requirements for the contract and look forward to receiving proposals later this year.
