The new Local Government Digital Service Standard has been hailed as a ‘big step forward’ for the way councils deliver digital services.
The standard, published by LocalGov Digital with feedback from more than 60 councils, aims to create a shared ambition for local government to improve services and put users at the heart of service design.
It also sets out a framework for assessing compliance and allows councils to share best practice.
Vice-chair of LocalGov Digital, Phil Rumens, said:
“This a big step forward for the way local government delivers digital.
Not only will it help create better services, it will enable this to happen in a more joined up way.”
