Launched in June 2006, Supply2.gov.uk is the only official government lower-value contract opportunity portal, created specifically to provide small businesses with visibility of public sector contract opportunities typically below £100,000.
The portal is the first major initiative to unite buyers and suppliers in a single location, making it easier for business and government to work together. Since its launch, Supply2.gov.uk has provided small businesses throughout the UK with visibility of in excess of 100,000 contract opportunities nationwide.
Supply2.gov.uk is FREE for public sector buyers to advertise contract notices and FREE for private sector suppliers to register for access to contract information via the online Contract Search and the Daily Contract Alert service – which delivers notification of new public sector contract opportunities relevant to the user – FREE from a location of their choice.

Procurex Scotland
Supported by the Scottish Government and Scotland’s leading business organisations, Procurex 2008 was Scotland’s first dedicated private and public sector procurement exhibition. Providing a wealth of information and opportunities to both sectors in order for them to reach their full potential in the procurement arena, the event aimed to empower procurement professionals, ensuring they have the tools, training and inspiration to deliver improved public services more efficiently. Scottish Procurement Directorate
The Scottish Procurement Directorate (SPD) is the Scottish Government's procurement organisation. It is responsible for developing and advising on procurement policy for the public sector in Scotland, as well as ensuring that procurement processes within the Scottish Government are effective and efficient. Through the Public Procurement Reform Programme, SPD aims to:
- improve collaboration in procurement across public bodies in Scotland;
- ensure best value for money is met;
- support better and more consistent practices;
- implement effective policy, regulation and clear guidance;
- provide a point of enquiry for suppliers;
- improve access to contract opportunities across the public sector;
- recognise whole life costs and sustainable procurement; and
- adopt a common, innovative and advanced e-commerce platform across public bodies in Scotland

eProcurement Scotland
eProcurement Scotl@nd (ePS) sits at the heart of the Procurement Reform and Efficient Government agendas by providing a full supported common electronic procurement platform.
Operational since 2002, ePS offers all public sector bodies in Scotland access to a technically advanced and commercially proven eProcurement service, together with planning, consultancy and training services, all without the need for costly and potentially risky capital investment. ePS is unique as it is the first eProcurement service in the world designed to meet the needs of public sector buyers and suppliers which supports the end-to-end purchasing cycle from sourcing to payment. Payment options through ePS include consolidated invoices, evaluated receipt settlement, eInvoicing and embedded government procurement card.
The total value of transactions in 2008 was £2.47 billion, amounting to over a quarter of all public sector procurement. This system provides savings in processing time, speed and accuracy and opens up opportunities for further savings through automated invoicing and payment.

Public Contracts Scotland
Public Contracts Scotland is the first ever Scottish Government national portal for advertising public contracting opportunities. The service is free for both suppliers and contracting organisations and provides easy access to both OJEU and sub-threshold public sector business opportunities in Scotland, worth around £8bn a year. Public Contracts Scotland provides details of business opportunities with Scottish Local Authorities, NHS Scotland, Universities, Colleges, the Scottish Government and the Emergency Services.

The Central Government Centre of Procurement Expertise (CGCoPE)
The Central Government Centre of Procurement Expertise (CGCoPE) is a professional team of public sector purchasing staff delivering best practice in procurement. It was set up in response to the Scottish Public Procurement Reform Programme and operates within the Scottish Procurement Directorate of the Scottish Government.
CGCoPE exists to make public sector procurement more effective and efficient for all in central government. It works collaboratively with 76 partners including the Scottish Government and its agencies, non-departmental public bodies (NDPBs), advisory NDPBs, public corporations and tribunals. Central government procurement spending totals approximately £1.1bn per annum.
CGCoPE is committed to stimulating, facilitating and delivering advanced procurement across the sector; supporting the work of Procurement Scotland for Category A commodities; and developing ways of working which improve efficiency and value for money for all.

APUC
APUC (Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges) Limited’s mission is to support the embedding and consistent application of good procurement practice within Scotland’s 62 universities and colleges, and to increase significantly the sustainable value for money from institutions’ procurement expenditure through the provision of advanced procurement services.
It is a private limited company, owned by institutions and established in response to the McClelland Report, the ‘Review of Public Procurement in Scotland’.

Fire and Rescue Services
Fire and Rescue Services across Scotland have a history of successful collaboration in procurement, largely driven through the Chief Fire Officers Association (Scotland)(CFOA(S)) Procurement Group. Scottish Fire and Rescue Services have benefited from collaboration, which has delivered savings, increased quality and improved service levels from suppliers across a range of commodities. In addition, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Services have worked to agree a common approach on a number of strategic initiatives that have served to improve standardisation and to provide a route map for future co-ordinated direction.
