on his consultancy experience and government background
– including posts in MoD HQ and HM Treasury –
Digby specialises in helping companies win and profit
from public sector business, advising in particular on
marketing strategy and tender preparation. His experience
includes research, operational/decision analysis, resource
allocation, project management and acquisition, especially
the development of procurement strategies, ITTs and tender
evaluation schemes. |

Gibbs – Head
of Small Business Unit,

Howard
has been in charge of the Small Business Unit (SBU) –
now part of UK Trade & Investment Defence & Security
Organisation (DSO) – since it was established as
part of the former Defence Export Services Organisation
(DESO) in 2003. On 1 April 2008 many of DESO's services,
including the SBU, were transferred to UK Trade &
Investment to form DSO. The SBU offers government support
and assistance aimed at increasing the amount of overseas
defence and security business won by UK small and medium-sized
companies. Through the UK Trade & Investment DSO
Small Business Charter scheme, the SBU is currently helping
over 500 companies realise their defence and security
export aims and ambitions. |
Phil
Margerison – Head
of the MoD Defence Suppliers Service |

Philip
is Head of the Defence Suppliers Service within the
Defence Commercial Policy Group, providing guidance
to companies on contracting with the MoD. He has several
years’
experience in commercial policy dealing with guidance
on contractor insolvency, parent company/bank guarantees
and non-competitive pricing. Prior to this he worked
in the contracts division of a major defence company. |
Harry
McLernon – Head
of Standardization Development and Business Management,
DStan |

Harry
joined the MoD from a commercial engineering Ccompany
in 1985, having served an engineering apprenticeship
and working on steel, oil and robotic product lines.
He has served in the MoD Codification, Standardization,
Air Technical Publications and NATO Materiel Standardization
departments. Harry is currently employed with the UK
Defence Standardization department and leads the Standardization
Development and Business Management Team. His responsibilities
include the DStan Helpdesk, the Standards Verification
Service and the New Technology Standards Initiative. |
