Central Buying Consortium
Central Buying Consortium is the largest local authority purchasing consortium in the UK. The members of the CBC are the procurement departments of 17 local authorities, predominantly in the east and south east of England. The organisation exists to maximise the value to its members of the products which they purchase. This is achieved by working collaboratively with each other and with suppliers to enter into arrangements for more products and services to consolidate the requirements purchased by the member authorities.

Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply
Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) is the leading international body representing purchasing and supply management professionals. It is the worldwide centre of excellence on purchasing and supply management issues. CIPS has over 44,000 members in 134 different countries, including senior business people, high-ranking civil servants and leading academics. The activities of purchasing and supply management professionals can have a major impact on the profitability and efficiency of all types of organisation.

Department of Work and Pensions
Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) was established in June 2001 to promote opportunity and independence for all, help individuals achieve their potential through employment and work to end poverty in all its forms. The commercial function's aim is to deliver best value for money for the Department and ultimately the public sector. DWP is the largest-spending civil department with £4.3 billion per annum procurement expenditure or 29% of the total civil procurement.

Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency
Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is an executive agency of the Department for Transport. The Agency is accountable to the Secretary of State and Ministers and, through them, to Parliament and the public, for efficient and effective management of the Agency and its responsibilities. Its primary aims are to facilitate road safety and general law enforcement by maintaining registers of drivers and vehicles, and to collect vehicle excise duty.

FSB
The FSB is the largest campaigning pressure group promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and owners of small firms in
the UK. Formed in 1974, it now has over 210,000 members across 33 regions and 230 branches. On the member benefits side, it offers assistance and support 24 hours a day, while its lobbying arm applies pressure to the Westminster Government and MPs as well as the devolved administrations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, through our offices in Glasgow, Cardiff and Belfast. In addition the organisation also has access to the European Union, through its office in Brussels. The FSB has a vision that recognises, values and adequately rewards the endeavours of those who are self employed and small business owners within the UK.

Health Care Supply Association
Health Care Supply Association is dedicated to promoting the role and importance of supplies staff in cost-efficient supply chain management. The Association has a formal constitution and works through a Council made up of representatives from each of its branches. It promotes the work of procurement and logistics staff working in health care at all levels. It also arranges training events and seminars, organises and sponsors educational and travel awards, and hosts and promotes a high-profile Annual Conference.

London Contracts & Supplies Group
In 1976 the Greater London Council (GLC), Inner London Education Authority (ILEA) and London Boroughs identified the need for a greater degree of coordination and joint action in purchasing and supply matters in Greater London. Recognition of the collective expertise and resources of the London Boroughs, the GLC and the ILEA, and the desirability of increased participation in the development of policy led to the creation of London Contracts and Supplies Group (LCSG). Collectively the use of joint contracts has already realised savings in the region of £2.25 million per annum across the participating Boroughs.

Society of Procurement Officers in Local Government
Society of Procurement Officers in Local Government (SOPO) engages in a range of activities to promote its strategic purchasing, contracting and supplies functions. Representing over 2500 members, SOPO provides area networks and forums and produces guidance on best practice. Its aim is to advise local authorities throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland on all purchasing and supplies matters of national or general interest, and represent its members on other bodies to promote the Society and its aims.

Supply2.gov.uk is a dynamic new government-backed service designed specifically to give companies easy access to lower-value contract opportunities (typically worth under £100,000) offered by the public sector. The portal brings buyers and suppliers together for the first time and aims to be the first portal of call for lower-value business opportunities.
