Project Teams (IPTs)
This
year’s conference will provide delegates with a unique
opportunity to have pre-arranged meetings with representatives
from 15-20 MoD Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) – Air,
Land and Sea, thereby allowing attending delegates to gain
a better understanding of the IPT function and how to work
with IPTs in the future.
Naval
Electronic Warfare Integrated Project Team
The team’s principal role is to support the Royal Navy
Fleet by providing detection of and countermeasures against
current and emerging anti-ship, air and asymmetric threats
these cover a wide spectrum of Naval Electronic Warfare activities.
These tasks are achieved by Civilian and Royal Navy staff
from various disciplines including engineers.
Future
Carrier (CVF) Integrated Project Team
CVF
will replace the Royal Navy's current three Invincible class
aircraft carrier force with two larger, more capable vessels
- the largest capital ships ever constructed in the UK or
operated by the RN and the most capable carrier force outside
the USA.
Dismounted
Close Combat Integrated Project Team
The
Dismounted Close Combat IPT procures a wide range of small
arms, support weapons, ammunition and STANO (Surveillance,
Target Acquisition and Night Optics) for dismounted troops.
Marine
Auxilliary Systems (MXS) Integrated Project Team
The
Marine Auxiliary Systems Integrated Project Team (MXS IPT)
is reponsible for the provision of engineering support of
marine compressed air, mechanical handling, hydraulic pumps,
steering and stabiliser equipment and systems fitted in surface
ships, submarines and other craft.
Future
Business Group (FBG)
The
Future Business Group (FBG) provides a unique bridge between
the DE&S, Equipment Capability Customer (ECC) and the
Science community to manage and support the transition from
capability planning to equipment acquisition. The FBG relies
on a clear understanding of the requirement and the ability
to tackle the uncertainty associated with the early stages
of the CADMID cycle. FBG-3 supports aircraft related programme.
Chemical,
Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Protection Integrated
Project Team
The
CBRN IPT procures CBRN Protection equipment (less medical
counter measures) for the three services; as specified by
our Equipment Capability Customer (DEC(CBRN)) and in close
co-ordination with Dstl Porton Down.
Strategic
Unmanned Air Vehicles (Experiment) Integrated Project Team
The
Strategic Unmanned Air Vehicles (Experiment) IPT, or SUAV(E)
IPT is responsible for directing the work required to establish
the potential of Unmanned Air Vehicles.
Flight
Simulation & Synthetic Trainers (FsAST) Integrated Project
Team
The
FsAST IPT is responsible for the acquisition and integration
of air environment synthetic training for all three armed
services, from concept through to disposal phases
Air
Command and Control Systems Integrated Project Team
The
Air Command and Control Systems IPT is part of the ISTAR Cluster
in DE&S at the MOD’s Abbey Wood site in Bristol.
It is a through-life IPT, managing systems from concept to
disposal.
Military
Afloat Reach & Sustainability Integrated Project Team
The
Military Afloat Reach and Sustainability (MARS) project will
provide the future Royal Navy with the ability to operate
away from the UK for protracted periods of time. MARS vessels
will replace many of the existing Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA)
fleet following their progressive retirement from service
in the latter part of this decade. The project is in its Assessment
Phase considering a range of options to deliver the capability.
Director
General Safety and Engineering (DGSE)
Medical
& General Supplies (M&GS) Integrated Project Team
The
M&GS procures and manages about 200,000 line items of
General Stores. Operating on a Tri-Service basis, procurement
solutions to meet customer requirements centre principally
on a combination of partnering arrangements with a smaller
number of Industrial Prime Vendors (IPVs) and smart enabling
arrangements. These arrangements cover diverse ranges from
fasteners, bearings, timber and chemicals to flags, ropes
accommodation stores and electrical components. In addition
to supplying the commodity, the IPVs are contracted to provide
a number of value added services such as rationalisation,
supply chain improvements, customer and technical support.
