About

This first Glasgow4Business Week aims to showcase a ’Team Glasgow’ approach which will offer participating organisations the opportunity to reach a wide and potentially new audience. It will offer public and private sector support agencies, academics, politicians, business experts, noted entrepreneurs and government officers a platform from which to showcase their support for business and demonstrate what they are able to contribute towards the aims of Glasgow’s joint economic strategy. The joint economic strategy is prepared on behalf of the Glasgow Local Economic Forum and sets out the policies which will contribute to the continued growth of the Glasgow economy.

It is well documented that this council has championed the term 'Team Glasgow' as a descriptor for the need for public and private sector support agencies to work together to deliver the maximum benefits for this great city.

The need to support our business, workforce and local communities through these challenging economic times remains a high priority.

Through introducing this, the first Glasgow4Business Week, we are serving notice that Glasgow is open for business. We want more new businesses to base their operation in the city, we want more businesses to employ local apprentices and we are certain that the emerging opportunities from the 2014 Commonwealth Games will result in assisting business and employment growth.

The events programme planned for this week is a clear example of Team Glasgow in action. We are delivering a loud and clear message to the business community that you are not alone.

Glasgow4Business Week brings together over 30 support organisations to showcase their capabilities and to present some 200 business events.

The week will offer information seminars, workshops on good practice, masterclasses from experts and real networking opportunities and will call to action all business leaders to adopt some of the learning they will take from participating in these events. The future well-being of our business community is essential in order to maintain Glasgow's position as a key driver of the Scottish economy.

Do not miss out on this opportunity to develop your business. Register for an event now!
