The
mission at NHS Supply Chain is to provide an innovative
and dedicated end-to-end supply chain service that can meet
the needs of every NHS healthcare organisation in England.
Through its suite of world-class logistics, procurement
and customer support services, NHS Supply Chain aims to
provide over £1 billion of savings to the NHS over
the next 10 years, enabling customers to release the resources
they need to actively focus on the delivery of quality frontline
patient care and cost base management. Quality care is at
the heart of everything that is delivered at NHS Supply
Chain. They support the needs of over 600 hospitals in England,
working closely with NHS Trusts to deliver high-quality,
original goods across key product categories. They understand
the importance of value to customers, and work hard to create
partnerships with a range of suppliers to deliver sustainable
value to the NHS.

North
West Collaborative Procurement Hub
The
North West Collaborative Procurement Hub is part of a national
initiative from the Department of Health to create collaborative
procurement in the NHS. In simple terms, strategic buying
for NHS Trusts should result in big savings – £35
million over the next three years is the forecast. The North
West Hub (originally Greater Manchester Hub) is also a Pathfinder
project, and will act as a pilot scheme to see if the DH's
collaborative procurement theories will work. The CPH is
wholly owned and funded by the 39 Trusts that are its constituent
stakeholders, and is hosted by the North West Ambulance
Service. The CPH reports to a Board of 14 members made up
of executive and non-executive representation from stakeholder
Trusts and PCTs.

MEDILINK
MEDILINK
is a non-profit-making organisation which brings together,
on a regional basis, medical manufacturing and distribution
companies, hospitals and universities to stimulate innovation
and drive forward profitable developments in the healthcare
technology and systems sector. In September 2006, trusTECH
– the North West NHS Innovation Hub – took on
management of MEDILINK North West.This is an exciting time
for the North West medical technology sector, and initially
trusTECH will work to re-establish MEDILINK North West as
a stand-alone business that will work to increase profitability
in the North West healthcare sector.

to give companies easy access to thousands of new lower-value
(typically under £100,000) business opportunities
offered by the public sector. It even lets you register

allows all public sector buyers to promote their lower-value
contract opportunities directly through a single portal
as well as identifying local businesses that can supply
any required products or services. This portal will bring
together buyers and suppliers for the first time –
and will be the first portal of call for lower-value new
business opportunities.
