Welcome
It
is estimated that the Government could save up to £40bn
over the next decade by sharing services across public sector
HR and Finance alone. The savings to be made in procurement could
be substantial. This is your chance to learn about how shared
services in procurement can be implemented as well as the barriers
and the impact on the market.
The
theme for this year’s conference will be Shared Services,
and relating this to the threads of both sustainability and collaboration.
Shared services is very much a ‘hot’ topic for the
public sector and is having a great impact on the procurement
function.
The Central Buying Consortium has gone from strength to strength
in each year of its development and the national agenda in the
shape of the National Procurement Strategy and Centres of Excellence,
as well as the Efficiency Review, requires much greater collaboration
across the public sector.
Seminar Sessions
As in previous years, we are offering delegates the opportunity
to attend a choice of seminars on a range of relevant topics.
These offer a higher degree of participation and an opportunity
for delegates to engage and discuss important issues in greater
depth.
Speakers
We have invited a wide range of presenters to discuss their experiences
of shared services and in particular relating this to sustainability
and collaboration, which are two key areas that CBC promotes.
Our presenters have backgrounds within the public sector, private
sector, consultancy and academia, which will give us a rich mix
in understanding the delivery of shared services from a procurement
perspective.
Drinks
Reception
With a strong focus on networking the day will close with a drinks
reception to allow you to meet with your fellow delegates and
discuss the day's topics.
