It is clear that 2010 is presenting buyers and suppliers with the kind of challenges that
only collaborative procurement can meet.
CBC is delighted to offer this opportunity to learn how a collaborative approach can help transform government and achieve greater effectiveness and efficiency at local, regional and national levels across all sectors of the economy, including health and social care.
This year’s annual conference, Transforming Government through Collaborative Procurement, will bring together a wide range of suppliers and procurement practitioners from local authorities and the wider public sector as well as the not-for-profit and private sectors, who all share a strong desire to achieve more with less in today’s challenging business environment.
The CBC Annual Conference is main event in the public procurement calendar and is a key platform for discussion on the key issues in procurement and the challenges ahead.
The Conference aims to increase the knowledge of procurement professionals in this area!
The Central Buying Consortium (CBC) is a major public sector procurement grouping that meets those challenges. It represents the professional procurement teams of 17 local authorities in the Midlands and the south of England with a portfolio of business valued at close to £1 billion.
This is a huge marketplace that includes schools, colleges, councils, fire and police services, community and voluntary organisations, and health and social care. CBC’s portfolio has an enormous range of commodities and services, so suppliers and buyers have the scope to make financial and efficiency savings built around sound and ethical contracts.
The CBC Annual Conference is an established forum for buyers and suppliers to hear about the latest initiatives and opportunities for supplying the public sector. Bring yourself up to speed with the latest official procurement regulations, procedures and opportunities.

CBC is now a member of the Pro5 Group of public sector buying consortia, and so working with CBC is a route into not only its own 17 member authorities, but also into Pro5’s member authorities across the Midlands and northern England. More details about Pro5 will be available at the Conference. |
As in previous years, we are offering delegates the opportunity to attend a choice of seminars on a range of relevant topics. These offer a higher degree of participation and an opportunity for delegates to engage and discuss important issues in greater depth.
With a strong focus on networking the day will close with a drinks reception to allow you to meet with your fellow delegates and discuss the day's topics.
Do not miss this opportunity to meet with key buyers and suppliers and hear presentations on how shared services impact on all organisations.
