About
The Central Buying Consortium is the largest purchasing consortium in the UK. Since its formation in 1991, it has increased its membership from six to seventeen local authorities and now represents most of the major authorities outside London, from the Midlands to the South and South East.
The Central Buying Consortium continues to go from strength to strength, working to increase savings in public expenditure by improving procurement practices. Working with a wealth of suppliers throughout the UK, the Consortium is recognised as a proactive organisation, effecting change and working to bring together buyers and suppliers.
This year’s annual conference, ‘Supplier Diversity in the Procurement Decision’ will bring together suppliers, senior buyers and purchasing practitioners from within the member councils and other areas of the public sector who have an interest in developments within the organisation.
