CBC ANNUAL CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION
One Great George Street, London
Thursday 17 March 2005

The Central Buying Consortium has gone from strength to strength in each year of its development. The challenges facing procurement practitioners across local government have never been greater. We not only have a National Procurement Strategy and Centres of Excellence, but also an Efficiency Review led from the very top table of the public sector.

OGC Chief Executive John Oughton will be presenting this year’s Keynote Address to explain the impact of the Efficiency Review on the public sector as a whole, and in particular on procurement activity. The role of the Centres of Excellence is clearly linked to this Efficiency Review and Dr Andrew Larner, Director of the South East Centre of Excellence, will be telling us about how the South East is addressing the public sector efficiency agenda and the National Procurement Strategy.

SEMINAR SESSIONS

As in previous years, we are offering delegates the opportunity to attend a choice of seminars on a range of relevant topics. These offer a higher degree of participation and an opportunity for delegates to engage and discuss important issues in more depth.

BUILDING ON SUCCESS

During the afternoon we will look at how benefits are achieved through good procurement and the successes that member authorities have had in achieving positive outcomes.

Before the closing reception specific examples of success within the CBC will be celebrated.
