Procurex Scotland

Scotland’s public procurement exhibition

Since the Review of Public Procurement in Scotland, published in 2006, there has been a renewed focus on ensuring that the Scottish public sector secures maximum value from its annual procurement spend of approximately £8 billion.

The current financial climate has likewise encouraged private sector organisations to examine their supply base and seek best value across all their purchases and suppliers.

The Centres of Expertise have also brought about a change in the number and size of national and regional contracts, placing a focus on supply chain activity and opening up new opportunities for SMEs to become involved in public sector contracts.

Procurement has never been more important, and buyers across both the public and private sectors are under pressure to deliver real benefits through their procurement exercises.
